Yoga contains the opportunity for all of us to return home to our sacred bodies and breath. I attended my first yoga class in 1990 in a summer dance workshop. Yoga was for me a natural segue from dance - an opportunity to continue living fully from within the body in a more healthy integrated way.

I dove into daily yoga study and practice in 1997 and began teaching full time in 2000. I completed two teacher trainings, one with Erich Schiffmann and another with Sat Santokh Sing. Over the years I continue to study asana with Bay Area Iyengar teachers such as Tony Briggs, Ramanand Patel and Patricia Sullivan. As a matter of course, I became fascinated with the philosophical underpinnings of the asana practice. This led me to India in 2005 to study Advaita Vedanta with Swami Dayananda Saraswati. Emphasizing the breath and incorporating yogic philosophy transforms the simple physical work of asana into a spiritual practice. I see life and yoga class as a grand adventure, but be warned that I am a joke school dropout.
