Dubbed the "near-perfect sleep guru" by Yoga Journal Magazine, Ann Dyer has taught the magic of yoga as a drug-free solution to insomnia in workshops across the country, including at the Kripalu Center, Omega Institute, and Yoga Journal Conferences. YOGASTUDIO is honored to have Ann present her highly effective yoga methodologies for better sleep.
The workshop begins with a discussion of the root causes of stress-induced insomnia while identifying the riches we have to gain - in body and spirit - from deep, natural sleep. Ann methodically guides us through asana sequences, breathing techniques, chants, and guided meditations designed to lure us into dreamland. We also learn daytime choices for bedtime success, how to design a customized bedtime ritual, and what to do when we wake during the night. We return home with a yoga prescription for insomnia, one that will have us sleeping like a baby and waking to greet the new day rested and refreshed.
This workshop is appropriate for anyone at any level of yoga experience who needs better sleep, including those suffering from general anxiety, exhaustion, attention deficit disorder, or menopausal symptoms.

ANN DYER, yoga instructor and vocal artist, is known for her unique blending of asana and sound. Her latest venture, Zyoga: The Yoga Sleep Ritual, is a creative collaboration with Sleep Garden Enterprises on the use of yoga for stress-induced insomnia. She is a senior staff member of Piedmont Yoga in Oakland and presents workshops internationally on asana, chant and yoga for insomnia.
